So you've decided to go on a dive vacation. It's time that you explore the natural blue wonder that's otherwise known as the sea. People who get into scuba diving become addicted to the hobby because the ocean does really offer a different world that is more beautiful than you can ever imagine. As a diver, you can go light and decide to rent out the equipment in the destination itself. But diving aficionados believe that you also need to invest in some tools. This obviously makes for a better option because it's simply more hygienic. Plus, you do get to save money from all the rentals in the long run.

You can rent out the tank and have the resort take care of the boat. Unless you have a lot of money to spare, budget should always be at the top of your list. This isn't to say that skimp on your purchases. Rather, get a trusted brand because these do last longer. And as a diver, make sure you have the following pieces of equipment whenever you go out to dive:

1. Mask and goggles. These are usually sold in sets and can be packed easily inside your suitcase. For obvious reasons, it is better than you own your very own pair especially if you're particular about things you put in your mouth.

2. Anti-fog spray. Spit or toothpaste is what divers put on their masks to lessen the fogging. The sprays are much better because the effects last longer.
3. Underwater camera. If you're a diving enthusiast, you will want to document your every dive. This is also a good way for you to keep track of your dive vacations. Remember, there are wonderful sites everywhere, and if you want to explore each one, you will want to have a memento so you can also see where your best experiences are.
4. Wet suit. Sometimes, some dive areas don't offer a wide range of wet suits. You will want to make sure that what you wear fits you perfectly.
5. Aqua shoes. For the same reason, you will want something that fits you perfectly. And it's something you can always use even when you don't go out diving.
6. Fins. A good pair of fins will fit well over your aqua shoes. Some brands even sell them as a set. Look into your nearest dive stores and see what they have to offer.
7. Torch. These are great for night dives, and if you're brave enough to venture out even when the sun isn't out, this can be a very good investment as not all destinations have these for each diver.

8. Gloves. The deeper you go, the colder the water gets. You need to be prepared especially if you're working at becoming not just a certified diver, but a dive master.

The BCD and dive belts may be too much of a hassle to keep. These are the things you can easily get your hands on when you're in your destination. Aside from that, don't go for equipment that may be a little too expensive to maintain. Just get yourself familiar with what you have and you should be fine.
